'Sup peeps? How is everyone in the land of dA? Is the dreaded writers block decimating our population of literary artists? Have any of you been abducted by aliens recently? Or, horror of horrors, have you been taken away and shot behind the prison block by the dA secret police? (They DO exist!)
Relatively minor update on my status: I have finished my Scary Atton contest entry, all I have to do now is edit it tomorrow, and it should be submitted by Thursday.
And now we have a feature, brought to you courtesy of
.
The Rules
- Be one of the first 10 people to comment on this journal entry, and I'll put you on the feature list.
- For each of these 10 people, I'll put their avatar and three deviations I like from their gallery on the list.
- If I feature you, you'll have to do the same in your journal, featuring 10 people and putting me in first place.
The idea of this isn't to get a free feature. It's to spread the art around!
Now Presenting....the Artists!
1.
She's a writer with a talent for potraying the emotions of a character perfectly and writing gripping prose.
A spectacular sequal to the already brilliant Transference, her (the character, not GrecianUrn) insanity gives me chills.
An interesting piece about Canderous Ordo that fascinates me.
An interesting story about Jaq's childhood and where he aquired the name Atton.
2.
She's a writer who can write anything, be it smut, action or romance. A great writer, and definately one to watch.
This is an inspired account of Atton converting a Jedi in an interesting and bloodless way.
A great drawing of Atton, and a chilling accompaniment.
A story of Jaq after meeting that fateful prisoner, whch builds up to the climax of him deciding to flee the Sith.
3.
She's another brilliant writer who can write a chilling Scary Atton and a heavily contrasting Altair with equal majesty, and also makes awesome bone kitty artwork.
One of her latest stories, and a spectacular entry to the latest Scary Atton Society competition 'The Space Between'.
An Assassin's Creed story by her that I read for the first time today, and was awed by the skill with which she portrayed the emotions Malik is feeling over the death of Altair.
A truly creepy and intriguing Scary Atton ficlet (and if that's not a word it should be)
4.
A brilliant action -packed writer, champion of the cause of Male Revan, and wrestling fanatic, LZ is an author who has given us many good fics, and I suspect, has many left to give.
An interesting and humorous tale of what the Normandy's crew do in their spare time, it's definately worth a read, whether or not you have played Mass Effect.
A fitting ending to a brilliant series that demonstrated the immense literary skill of this author.
A story that turns Scary Atton on its head, told from the point of view of a Jedi on a mission to redeem him, it is a fascinating take on Atton's conversion away from the Sith.
Hope life's treating you well! You've been kind of quiet lately.

I'm good, thanks for asking. I'm obsessed with playing the KotOR 2 mod at the moment. I'm playing total light side mastery for the first time in I don't even remember.
What's your next writing project?

You have good weather where you are? Lucky, it's awful over here, heavy rain everyday.
I'm not quite sure, I would like to finish a Revan fic that has been in the pipeline half drafted for about 3 months, but I have more inspiration with Jaq right now, so I might try a SA story on the 'Toys' theme. You have any particular ones in the pipeline?

We've had some nasty weather, but the past few days have been lovely. There's a saying around here that if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes.
Yay for more Jaq stuff! I'm curious about that Revan fic, too, though. Haven't read any Revan stories in a long while. I need to get something together for the Toys challenge, too. At the moment I'm working on a Jaq deserting the Sith story for someone who is slowly coming around to liking Atton as a character. It's challenging because I've already written my version of those events, and that personal fanon is kind of ingrained in my head, but I am really enjoying exploring it from a slightly different angle, especially since it's been a year since I wrote the first one. I am using one character from my fanon because I can't resist.
